How to transfer/migrate contents of user profile (files, applications etc.) from XP Home pc to XP Ho

Hello!

I鈥檇 be grateful for advice on transferring/migrating the contents of a user profile (files, settings, applications) from an XP Home desktop pc to another XP Home desktop pc.

I have set up a network between the two XP Home desktop pcs.

How do I transfer the contents within a user profile (files, settings, applications) from one desktop pc to the other.

Basically, I want everything on my profile on the original desktop pc on the new one.

Thank you in advance.

Scotty

Scotty,

I would use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. Instructions on how to use it can be found here:

I assume both PCs are not networked, that is they are stand-alone un-linked. I recommend you use Acronis True Image to Clone or Create an Image of the old PC and restore to the new PC. How to go about it within resource available? Create a Partition on the new Disk, then move the Hard Disk of the new PC to old PC as Slave Drive. Create an Image of the old hard drive to the new Partioton in Slave Drive. Then return the disk back to the new PC, start it up and Restore the Acronis Image. Thats all. Good luck
